At the OREEF meeting on 5 June, key changes in personnel were confirmed.
Roy Dickson from RWE, who had been chairperson for several years, had announced between meetings that he would be stepping down from OREEF due to a change of jobs within his organisation. Additionally, Molly Isaacs from ORE Catapult, who had been the secretariat of OREEF for 18 months, also announced that she was leaving her role and passing on the secretariat to her colleagues.
Roy has steered OREEF through the challenging times post Covid to being a productive and more influential group, with an increased attendance and visibility. The group has delivered the first TRIREX (Exercise Sancho), established a new website and grown its membership in his time as chair.
Molly has been a driving force behind positive changes including the new OREEF members SharePoint site, work on data capture and vastly improved administrative support.
Chairing the meeting on this occasion, Pete Lowson from HM Coastguard noted his sincere thanks to both Roy and Molly, on behalf of the whole membership, for their dedicated support of OREEF and to not only their positive influence but guidance and friendship over their time in the group. From everyone at OREEF, we wish them well in their future careers.
Vice-chair Sarah Bray from Vattenfall echoed the comments and stated her enjoyment of working with both Roy and Molly. During the meeting, a vote by all members present confirmed Sarah as the new chair of OREEF.
Three volunteers put their names forward for the role of vice-chair and this will be voted upon by members and confirmed at the September meeting.
