OEER launches new initiative to strengthen offshore emergency preparedness

We are excited to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities across the offshore energy sector. This initiative, led by the Emergency Preparedness Offshore Liaison (EPOL) Group, Offshore Renewable Energy Emergency Forum (OREEF), and Topside Medical Forum (TMF), will focus on improving cross-sector collaboration, developing advanced response strategies, and conducting large-scale emergency drills.

With increasing offshore operations in oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors, the need for robust emergency preparedness has never been greater. Our new programme will offer targeted training, updated industry guidelines, and new resources to support offshore operators and responders in managing a wide range of potential incidents, from natural disasters to medical emergencies.

“We are committed to ensuring that every offshore facility has the tools, training, and support they need to respond effectively to any emergency,” said Pete Lowson, HM Coastguard’s Offshore Energy Lead. “By bringing together key industry stakeholders, this initiative will help build a safer and more resilient offshore energy industry.”

Stay tuned for updates on upcoming drills, training sessions, and the release of new resources. For more information on how you can get involved, please contact us or visit the Initiatives section of our website.
